This lecture-performance explores the notion of belonging in relation to East- West cultural transfer in Europe before and after the fall of the Iron Curtain. It asks to what extent culture has succeeded – or failed – to create forms of connection within a politically divided Europe, and whether cultural belonging can function as a stronger bond than borders shaped by ideology, surveillance, and restriction.
